National Day of Thanksgiving 2008 Theme
The National Day of Thanksgiving in 2008 is set for Saturday
10 May 2008.
This is the Mothers Day weekend, so the theme will be to " honour all Mothers and thank those people throughout the community who nurture, train, teach, mentor or care for babies, children and youth."
This would include but not be limited to: Workers in Babies and Children's homes, Pre-Schools, Youth Shelters, School Teachers and Chaplains, Youth Workers, Children and Youth sporting team coaches and administrators.

National Solemn Assembly
March 2007
The National Solemn Assembly was held in Canberra from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th March. Participants from around Australia gathered to represent the "Church of Australia" in repentance and prayer. While around 1500 people gathered in Canberra, tens of thousands of Australians joined in prayer across the Nation in repentance for past sins and in passionate prayer for redemption and restoration of the Church and Nation.
The worst drought in our history triggered this time of spiritual searching.
The meeting schedule was intense with the occasional 10-15 minute
break between sessions:
Friday 9th March 11.00AM till 8.00PM
Saturday 10th March 11.00AM till 8.00PM
Sunday 11th March 12 noon till 3.00PM
Many people fasted so they could devote themselves to prayer.
One of the worship leaders wrote a song for the occasion. The song and more information can be found at the Australian National Prayer Network website. A professionally produced DVD video can be purchased from the CityHarvest online shop for AUD$20.
Core Team Member Retires
BrizNet wishes to thank and acknowledged the vaued contribution that Pastor John Lewis has made over the years as part of the core team. Pastor Lewis retired from his ministry committments last year. He still continues to minister on a casual basis.
Lord Mayor's Pastors Prayer Breakfast
March 2007
The Lord Mayor's Pastors Prayer Breakfast was very well attended and from a kingdom perspective, hugely successful. There was truly a sense of blessing because of the unity of God's people on that day. Rev. Tim Costello from World Vision was the speaker. He spoke on bringing Gog's peace to the city we live in and looking after the welfare of that city. The Lord Mayor himself expressed how Tim's message had touched his heart personnally.
National Day of Thanksgiving

The National Day of Thanksgiving is a unique opportunity for Australians to celebrate and give thanks for our God given heritage as a nation and to demonstrate the God given values of honour, respect, thankfulness and gratitude towards our fellow man that have made us the great nation we are.
It is a day for us to pause as a nation and say thank you to God and to each other for those many things we often take for granted but which really make our lives worth living. Let us use this day to be a blessing to those who have been a blessing to us during the past year.
