Location and Time
The Concerts of Prayer are held in the Brisbane City Townhall commencing at 7:30pm. The meetings close at 9:00pm.
Format
The Concerts of Prayer generally feature a worship team from one of the city churches that leads the people in worship and songs that are intersperced with prayer segments throughout the evening. The worship team is usually a different team each meeting.
The Core Team members take responsibility to lead different prayer segments that are planned for the evening. The prayer emphasis depends on the current issues at the time but always in relation to the city and nation. For example, up-coming events such as the "Yes We Care" programm would be covered prior to the event.
The format of the prayer segments can vary depending on the person leading that segment. Sometimes the people may be divided into groups to pray, or everyone encouraged to pray aloud at the same time. Other segments may simply be prayer lead by a person from the front.
Opportunity is given for people to contribute financially if they wish with an offering.
Occasionally a special guest may be invited to attend and address the meeting. The Lord Mayor Campbell Newman has attended in the past and the Lady-Mayoress, Lisa Newman attended on another occasion.
